Bus passenger struck by car in Bracklesham

A PEDESTRIAN in Bracklesham Bay was hit by a car as she got off of a bus today (September 4).

Police and an ambulance were called just after midday, to Bracklesham Lane just outside a holiday park.

A woman who had just alighted from a northbound bus was in collision with a black Vauxhall Astra car.

She suffered head injuries and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, by ambulance.

The road is closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

Stagecoach said the service 52/53 through Bracklesham and the Witterings will not stop between Birdham and East Wittering, and will divert via Piggery Hall Lane until the road is reopened.

Witnesses should call 101, with the reference 540 of 4/9.
