Campaigners hit Whitehall

Months of campaigning to save front line services at the Princess Royal Hospital climaxed with a march to Whitehall on Tuesday.

Prior to the march, midwives from the Haywards Heath hospital revealed exclusively to the Middy they are holding crucial talks to try to save and enhance maternity services.

Their efforts follow assurances from hospital boss Duncan Selbie that A&E services will be retained.

Campaigners presented a petition with nearly 71,000 signatures to the Department of Health and Newick GP Dr Herry Ashby went to Number 10 Downing Street to deliver letters of support from GPs.
