FAMILY surrounded centenarian Hilda Worthington for her 100th birthday, as she celebrated with tea and nibbles.
Hilda was joined by her daughters Gilly and Sue and their husbands, as well as her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
They enjoyed a late lunch at Russell’s Garden Centre in Birdham to celebrate the special day on December 14 – Hilda’s birthday.
She also received a special card from the Queen to wish her a happy birthday.
Hilda’s daughter Gilly Peirson said her mum enjoyed the day.
“It was just fabulous, she was just brilliant,” she said.
“It was such a nice day.
“She’s got a fantastic sense of humour.
“She’s the most amazing mum you could ever wish for.”
Hilda, who lives in Manorfield Residential Care Home in Earnley, was a hairdresser with her own salon in Buckinghamshire, until she had her children and gave it all up to look after her family.
Later in life she lived near her daughter Gilly in Fernhurst, but moved to Manorfield care home when she was 95.
“They all adore her at the home, she is very kind and considerate,” said Mrs Peirson.
“Just an amazing, amazing lady.”
