Chance to win a golf lesson

Old Thorns is the main sponsor of the Petersfield Christmas Festival and in the build-up to the event at the beginning of next month, it has teamed up with the Post and East Hampshire District Council to offer a weekly prize to enjoy at the Liphook venue.

This week's prize has a sporting theme and will help the winner to hone their skills in the game of golf.

The championship golf course at Old Thorns ranges across the rolling hills of the North Hampshire countryside and offers fantastic views.

The par 72 course has had an illustrious history since it opened in 1981, which includes Seve Ballesteros and Jack Nicklaus playing in a , competitive four ball there.

This week's prize is a golfing lesson with the club's PGA teaching professional Peter Chapman. Whether you need help with your driving, putting, short game or recovering from hazards, there's always something Peter can help you with.

To enter this competition all you need to do is answer this question: Which famous golf TV commentator helped to design the Old Thorns course?

Send your answer, along with your name, address and daytime telephone number to: Old Thorns Golf Competition, Post Series, 3 High Street, Petersfield, Hants, GU32 3JR.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, November 13, 2009.
