TWO students from Chichester College put their skills into action to raise money for local homeless charity Stonepillow.
Event and hospitality management students, Megan Hawkins and Emily Golding, chose to support the charity by hosting a three-course charity lunch with a British theme.
The event took place at the Goodwood Restaurant, Chichester College.
A Stonepillow spokeswoman said: “Not only did the girls do a fantastic job of arranging the lunch, they also organised a raffle and a guess the weight of the cake competition.”
The pair invited speakers from the charity who gave an after-dinner talk about the work of Stonepillow, which offers shelter, information and support to empower homeless and vulnerable people to make positive changes in their lives.
“Before the event, I was very nervous,” said Megan.
“But Emily was more relaxed, which helped keep us on track with last-minute preparations.
“We ended up with about 26 diners, which was fantastic.
“All in all we managed to raise £236.68 for the charity and had fantastic feedback from all the customers.”
