CINEMA staff are set to get on their bikes to Help Tom Toddle.
Dan Simac is organising a ten-hour sponsored bike ride in the foyer of Cineworld, Chichester, to raise funds for Thomas Jenkinson.
Thomas, whose story has inspired readers across the Observer area, was born with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. His family is trying to raise £40,000 to pay for an operation which will allow him to move unaided.
Dan, who went to school with Thomas’ oldest brother, said he was inspired to help the five-year-old after learning more about his dream of ‘new legs’.
“Thomas deserves that wish he has, he just deserves that so much,” said the 22-year-old.
“He is such a sweet, kind little boy.”
Dan and his co-workers will be cycling in fancy dress in the foyer of the cinema from 10am-8pm on Saturday, January 18.
There will also be a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.
Dan said he did not have a specific fundraising target in mind for this, his first event, but was hoping to organise more in the future.
“It is more trying to raise awareness of what the family are trying to do at this stage,” he said.
