Inspirational. Rich Sherwell with brave Bethany Chiddle

Inspirational. Rich Sherwell with brave Bethany Chiddle

NOMINATIONS have been steadily arriving in since the launch of the Observer Community Awards at the start of the month - but we want more!

The latest entries include Give4Beth in the Best Local Voluntary/Charity Group category.

The Chichester-based charity was set up by Richard Sherwell initially to help four-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Bethany Chiddle achieve her dream of walking unaided.

An incredible £40,000 was raised so that Bethany and her mum could fly to the USA for an operation, which proved a huge success.

The charity has continued to help young people achieve life-changing dreams.

Matt Horstead, who nominated, said: “Incredible, inspirational charity and fundraiser for local children with cerebral palsy.”

Also nominated in the Best Voluntary/ Charity Group is the West Sussex Coastal NCT Cloth Nappy Library, who are ‘a bunch of mums who are passionate about washable nappies by loaning out complete kits to families’.

These are just the type of groups and people we are looking for so keep the nominations coming!

All the details are in the paper, including a nomination form. You can also give us your nominations by emailing awards@chiobserver.co.uk or going to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/ObserverCommunityAwards.
