Competition for eco-friendly children in Chichester

ECO-GROUP Transition Chichester is inviting children to enter a postcard competition.

Children can design an A6 postcard about the group’s Green Fair. The winning postcard will go out to more than 2,500 book bags in primary schools.

The Green Fair, which is being held at the Assembly Rooms on October 11, will feature fair trade food to local organic produce, from solar energy to upcycling.

A Transition Chichester spokeswoman said: “Think about what ‘being green’ means to you? What do you think of when you hear the words ‘green’ and ‘helping the environment’? Is it the world we live in, or the trees and plants? Do you think about where our energy comes from to power our homes, or how we grow our food? Think about what you do at home to help the environment and show us what is important to you.”

The only words needed on the postcard are: The Green Fair, The Assembly Rooms on Saturday, October 11, from 10am-4pm.

There will be a creative morning on Saturday at the Newell Centre, Chichester from 10am-midday for children to give it a go. Enter by email at communications@transitionchichester.org, or by post to Transition Chichester Postcard Competition, 19 Jubilee Road, Chichester, PO19 7XB, by Saturday, September 13.
