Cowfold farm shop raided by thieves

THIEVES broke into the Union Jack Farm Shop on the A281 at Cowfold on Monday night (November 3).

The owners called police at 8pm after discovering food scattered everywhere and a till missing.

Police say the intruders appear to have been disturbed by the alarm as there was a trail of debris out of the shop up the A281 in a southern direction.

The owners said there was 100 in the till and that meat had been stolen.

A Henfield resident found the abandoned till in bushes near Deer Park and it is now being examined by forensic officers.

Although there is no CCTV to view, police did send out tracker dogs but said it was obvious the suspects had used a car as the trail went cold.

Anyone with information should call Horsham CID on 0845 6070999.
