A SURPRISE guest showed up on Friday night, wowing the Goodwood crowds.
Emeli Sandé took to the stage alongside chart hit Naughty Boy, who was performing for the second of Goodwood’s Three Friday Nights on June 13.
She shot to fame in 2012 with her record-breaking album Our Version of Events, which was in the Top 10 UK album list for 66 weeks – beating a record dating back to the Beatles.
According to police, the event was more successful than the previous Friday, which was marred by violence after two men were attacked and ended up in hospital.
A police spokesman said: “Following the incidents on June 6 Sussex Police has talked with representatives from the Goodwood Estate and Chichester District Council to devise a more robust and co-ordinated approach for controlling events at Goodwood.
“There have been no further incidents of note.”
He added police are still making enquiries to find the attackers from the previous week.
Goodwood PR manager Lucy Humble said: “Everything that we put in place last week worked perfectly well and we were very happy with everything.”
