Emsworth drummer 'gutted' by theft
The drummer of an international band has told how he felt like his insides had been 'ripped out' after finding thieves had escaped with much of his treasured kit.
Glenn Collins, who played with critically-acclaimed The Auteurs, was devastated when he looked inside the back of his white Leyland Daf van to find three of the four rare and expensive Maple drums had been stolen.
The father-of-six had left the drums – a 13 inch bass mounted tom tom, 16 inch floor tom tom and a 22 inch bass – in the vehicle which was parked outside the back of his home in Victoria Road, Emsworth, because he had run out of space in his home.
"I'm gutted," Mr Collins said. "The kit cost 1,600 in 1991 so goodness knows what it is worth now."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Hampshire Police on 0845 045 4545.
