Fifty homes refused again for Tangmere

REFUSAL has greeted an application for 50 more homes in Tangmere.

Last year, an application for 50 homes off Church Lane was refused by Chichester District Council.

Rather than appealing the council’s refusal, Seaward Properties elected to resubmit the application with amendments.

Nevertheless, officers refused the second application.

The main reason for refusal this time was its conflict with planning proposals laid out in Chichester District Council’s local plan, which is set to be submitted before the summer.

Final consultation on the plan closed earlier this year. The council also decided the plans did not make provision for ‘necessary infrastructure needs’.

The local plan would see 1,000 homes south of Tangmere.
