DRAINAGE improvements on Chichester roads could cause traffic disruption from Valentine’s Day.

West Sussex County Council’s highways department will be working on drainage on the roads around the Spitalfield Lane roundabout near Chichester University.

This includes Spitalfield Lane, Oaklands Way and New Park Road, and works will take place from February 14 until March 31.

The works around the roundabout – which is prone to flooding – could cause delays in and around the city centre.

The council has said pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, and diversions will be in place if necessary.

An alternative route for traffic will be signed on site.
