PUPILS from Fordwater School presented an ‘exciting interpretation’ of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest, at the newly-built New Park Theatre.

Having performed in front of pupils at the school, the group took to the stage in front of an audience of parents and visitors who were impressed by the enthusiasm and skill demonstrated.

The students all worked hard over a series of lunchtime drama club sessions, coached by the staff: Jo, Hilary, Steve and Cathy. William and Isabelle played the ‘star crossed lovers’ Romeo and Juliet, while Lily and Henry played Miranda and Ferdinand.

Nathan was Caliban and sang ‘1000 Years’ alongside Nerissa.

The school said the whole performance was very well received by an appreciative audience.
