Further delays to Bognor's Asda scheme
Asda's plans for a new store in Bognor Regis are likely to be considered by councillors in November.
The much-delayed proposals for the retail outlet are anticipated to go before one of the two development control committee meetings of Arun District Council that month.
The latest setback to the company's hopes of opening at Oldlands Farm off the A29 follows a meeting its representatives held with the council's planning officials.
Arun planning officer Keith Wheway said Asda had requested the consideration of its planning application be put back a further two months.
The meeting concerned a consultant's report which Arun had commissioned into the proposal.
"This raised certain issues to do with the highways, the Environment Agency and the retail impact of the proposed store," said Mr Wheway.
"Asda are now going to come back with further information in response to those issues."
The latest news means it will be more than a year since Asda revealed its plans last October before any decision about them is taken by councillors. But Mr Wheway explained such high-profile proposals needed a lot of facts to be prepared correctly.
