A CHARITY golf event at Goodwood has raised money for Spinal Research.

More than £15,000 was raised by teams at The Kennels Golf Club, Goodwood.

“A great day was had by all,” said organiser Lucy McGinlay. “It was a big success.”

There was an auction and raffle at the event, with very generous donations made, including a bid for a poem
by former prime minister John Major.

Speaking at the event was Christopher Cowdrey, former England cricket captain and son of Lord Cowdrey.

He was joined by Spinal Research chairman of trustees, John Hick.

The golf event was supported by sponsors including Henry Adams and Harwoods.

Spinal Research raises money to fund research into clinical treatments as well as vital basic scientific research.
