Goswell double tragedy - coroner's criticism
POLICE and health services were strongly criticised by a coroner investigating a double tragedy in West Chiltington.
Roger Goswell, 66, killed his wife Susan, 63, at their home on December 23 last year, then crashed his car into a tree in Monkmead Lane.
Mr Goswell had left The Priory psychiatric clinic in Hove only a few days previously.
Yesterday (Wednesday November 5), West Sussex Coroner Penelope Schofield formally recorded that Mrs Goswell had been unlawfully killed, and that Mr Goswell had died of his injuries after attempting to take his own life.
