Guilty plea to Selsey car break-ins

A THIEF pleaded guilty to a spate of car break-ins in Selsey on Friday (August 1).

Neville McNair, 48, of East Street, Selsey, was charged with one count of theft from a vehicle and three counts of attempted thefts from vehicles.

The Crown Prosecution Service said McNair appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court last Friday and pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

He pleaded guilty to an attempted theft from a vehicle in Elm Grove, Selsey, belonging to the Selsey Venture Club.

He also admitted stealing a BT jacket and sat-nav from a car in Latham Road, Selsey, and two charges of attempting to steal items belonging to BT in a car on the same road.

All the offences took place on Sunday, July 27.

He will appear for a pre-sentence report at Worthing Magistrates’ Court, on October 6.

He has been released on bail until then.
