Hopes for Chichester girls’ reunion

FORMER students of a Chichester girls’ school hope to celebrate their 70th birthday year with a very special get-together.

Dawne Lygo-Baker (née Goddard), from Donnington, and Ann Stent (née Pescott), from Fareham, are looking to arrange a reunion of

their classmates from class 3E of the 1958 Lancastrian Girls’ School.

This year, everyone who was in the class will be turning 70 and the pair hope they can all get together to celebrate.

“We’re hoping to arrange something in August,” said Dawne.

Ten years ago a group of them met up via the website Friends Reunited and have since stayed in touch.

“It was such a good school, the Girls’ Lancastrian,” said Dawne. “All of us that met up, we’ve all got very fond memories and we also keep in contact with three people from that photograph who live abroad.”

She asked anyone thought they were in the class to come forward.

“We would be delighted to hear from you,” said Dawne.

“We are hoping to meet up later this year to chat and reminisce. After all, this is a significant year for us all.”
