Magician's fundraiser in memory of Barbara

MAGICIAN David Pattenden is hoping to conjure up funds for St Peter and St James Hospice when he runs a half-marathon this Sunday.

David is running in the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon on Sunday, February 15, in memory of his stepmother Barbara Holmes who died at the hospice two years ago.

He said: "She and my father were together for many years and she bought joy and happiness to all who met or knew her."

David, 39, who lives in Albourne, has only recently started road-running and has been training in and around Hurstpierpoint and at Wickwoods Country Club.

David, who works for Brakes frozen foods, is well known locally for his magic shows and balloon modelling.

He is chairman of a local magic society called ACES, a member of The Southdown Magicians and Sussex Magic Circle.
