Man who died after being hit by train at Fishbourne named
A PEDESTRIAN who died after being hit by a train at a railway crossing in Fishbourne has been identified.
27-year-old Matthew Waters, from Chichester, was struck by a train travelling at 60mph from Brighton to Portsmouth Harbour on the Westgate crossing.
Officers from Chichester and British Transport Police along with an ambulance rushed to the crossing at 1.54pm on Wednesday (July 2) after reports a man had been struck by a moving train.
Mr Waters was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Southern and First Great Western trains to Chichester, Bosham, Havant and Portsmouth Harbour were delayed up to 30 minutes.
