TWO people from the Chichester area have been charged with drink-driving in recent days.
Claire Wootton, 34, was arrested at 11.55pm on Wednesday (June 25) after her car was stopped in Salthill Road, Chichester, because it was being driven in the dark with a faulty light.
Wootton, of Hunters Race, Chichester, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on September 9.
Zena Strevens, 41, was arrested at 3.30am on June 22 after she was seen driving at speed in Hillfield Road, Selsey.
Strevens, of Glen Crescent, Selsey, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on October 7.
Sussex Police is currently conducting Operation Dragonfly to crack down on drink or drug-driving in the county.
The names of anyone charged are being published by the police.
If anyone suspects a driver is drink or drug driving they can text officers on 65999 with the details of people suspected or visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk to report them and give their details and information about their vehicle.
Police advised dialling 999 if anyone suspected someone of driving while being over the limit.
