“The Co-operative is a community retailer, and we are committed to playing an active role in local life, embracing the area’s community spirit. We will also be supporting the Co-op’s national partnership with British Red Cross to confront loneliness.

“With the combination of our new store and The Co-operative’s commitment to lowering prices on hundreds of everyday essentials, I am confident we will provide the community with everything needed to pick-up delicious food conveniently and create inspirational and tasty meals at home.”

The store will also highlight its ‘community pioneer’ role where two members of the food store team, Deanna Simmons and Megan McCloskey, will work to foster involvement in community activities, from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs including support for the British Red Cross, the Co-op’s new charity partnership which will help to tackle social isolation and loneliness in local communities.
