New youth club for Chichester teenagers

A NEW youth club for 13 to 17 year olds has been set up in Chichester – with the aim of keeping youngsters active.

The club, known as the Friday Night Club, has been set up by A2Dominion’s Swanfield Park Resident Involvement Group (SPRING).

The club will include activities like table tennis, snooker, badminton, football, cooking and crafts.

It will be run from Swanfield Park Community Centre on Friday evenings from 6pm until 8pm.

Heather David, A2Dominion’s head of community involvement, said: “We are delighted to be providing a new youth club for young people in the East Chichester region.

“Our residents formed SPRING in 2012 to reach out to all generations of the local community and they continue to arrange activities and recreation to many age groups, including children, with several other sessions planned for the future.”

Those who are interested in attending or who want more information should contact the centre’s volunteer manager Edith Clear on 01243 783242.

The weekly event, which is free and requires parental consent, will run until March 28 – and will continue thereafter, dependent on its success.
