STAFF are celebrating after a nursery school was praised in an outstanding report.

Loveders Nursery School in Priors Leaze Lane, Nutbourne, was awarded the accolade by Ofsted inspectors.

Manager Katrina Morris said she thought the outcome was the ‘result of a huge team effort’.

“For many years, we have had the ethos of providing a warm, loving place for the children to be, but also have applied a professional approach to maintaining and improving the quality of our care and education,” she said.

“All the staff deserve great praise for the hard work and dedication they have put in to enable us to get this wonderful report.”

Inspectors said the nursery school staff were ‘highly effective’ at planning and organising activities, which helped ‘enthusiastic’ staff use their skills to provide a ‘rich and imaginative experience for children’. The report said: “The quality of teaching is consistently high and all staff demonstrate very strong levels of understanding and providing for each child’s individual development.”

The report said staff were flexible and engaged with children at all times – helping them to develop at their own pace.

It was also found the nursery provider had embedded an ‘exemplary ethos’ to support children’s care and learning.

The nursery takes two to four-year-olds in the nursery and four to 11-year-olds in the after-school club.

Owner Stephanie Hickmore said: “This year the bar has been raised by Ofsted and so an outstanding result has become increasingly difficult to achieve.”
