One arrest in Chichester on New Year’s Eve

NEW Year’s Eve passed off peacefully in Chichester, as partygoers welcomed in 2014.

Neighbourhood policing team inspector Will Rolls thanked the Revelation Church’s City Angels.

“New Year’s Eve in Chichester was a busy but good-natured evening with just one arrest in the city centre – a 23-year-old man from Bognor arrested for drugs possession and given a caution,” he said.

“A great support on the night was the City Angels who work hard with us to keep the city a safe place to live, work and socialise.

“These volunteers were out on New Years Eve, giving up their time to keep people safe while enjoying the night.

“The work they do is not just about reducing vulnerability and looking after those that may be at risk of harm and the difference they make to people can be immeasurable.

“Our partnership with them is invaluable especially during busy times like New Year.”
