Picture Gallery: St George’s Day parade in Emsworth

Waiting for Video...

PRIDE and patriotism took over the St George’s Day in Emsworth yesterday as residents waved goodbye to the army regiment that has been in the town for 25 years.

The parade through the town was the last for 47 Regiment Royal Artillery, based at Baker Barracks on Thorney Island. Troops will now move to Larkhill, Salisbury.

Hundreds of people filled the streets to watch some 80 war veterans as they were presented with the Emsworth Rose by the Mayor of Havant.

For the story see this week’s Observer (April 24).
