A FIRE which broke out at Prebendal School in Chichester is believed to be ‘deliberate’.
A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is being investigated by officers.
Firefighters were called at 6.04pm yesterday (Wednesday 4) after the fire started in a ground-floor changing room of the three-storey building in West Street.
The head master of The Prebendal School has praised his pupils and staff.
A spokeswoman for the school said: “No one was injured and there was minimal damage.
Head master, Tim Cannell, said: “We evacuated the whole building very quickly and those children who were on site remained calm and sensible. This meant we could deal with the situation quickly and efficiently.”
The fire was extinguished by 6.30pm.
