A GROUP has travelled far and wide to be reunited after 25 years.
A reunion of members of Chichester Festival Youth Theatre took place at Pallant Gallery in Chichester – bringing together actors, actresses and those involved with the theatre between 1989 and 1992.
The event was masterminded by actress Philippa Burt who also organised a 20-year reunion for the group.
“It seemed like it was yesterday as we all started to arrive and there were screams and hugs,” said Mrs Burt.
“It was amazing to see everyone there and enjoying themselves and to see the support and enthusiasm and love of this group of people who had known each other for 25 years.
“The room was a buzz of talking, laughing and chatting for five hours solid.”
Members of the present CFYT were also at the event, interviewing former members as part of a project called Pass It On. They were accompanied by the project’s current leader, Sophie Shaw.
The group played DVDs from their time at the youth theatre.
“We all laughed at the fashion and hair,” said Mrs Burt.
“It was just all I had hoped it to be and a really special day.”
After acting in Chichester, Mrs Burt has been acting in everything from panto, open-air Shakespeare, stand-up comedy and music hall.
