Resurfacing work is set to take place on the A27 Chichester Bypass between Stockbridge and Portfield roundabouts.
The work will take place overnight from Monday, January 27 until Thursday, February 20, from 8pm to 6am every night.
There will be full carriageway closures of the A27 Chichester bypass with road users being diverted through Chichester.
Road users will be diverted via Fishbourne Roundabout, onto the A259, A286 and A285 before joining the A27 at Portfield Roundabout.
The Highways Agency will also be carrying out ‘technical renewal work’ at the Bognor Road roundabout in order to illuminate five keep left signs.
“We are carrying out this work to improve road user safety along the A27 and prolong the carriageway life reducing the need for emergency repairs,” said a spokesman for the Highways Agency.
“Work of this nature does generate disruption and inevitably a certain amount of noise.
“Efforts will be made to reduce this wherever possible. We appreciate your understanding and tolerance of the works until they are completed.”
