CHILDREN were thanked for their efforts in keeping the roads outside their schools safe.
Westbourne House School welcomed children from around a dozen schools in West Sussex, all of whom had taken part in the county-wide junior road safety officer scheme.
The children received high-vis jackets and were praised for their work.
“This is a worthwhile thing to get involved in,” said senior master at Westbourne House Tim Pitman, adding they were very keen for more schools to take part.
The county council scheme lets children monitor the roads – with the big problem parents parking outside the schools.
