A PLAN for 160 homes has been submitted for the land south of Clappers Lane in Bracklesham – as an alternative to another application for 220 homes.
Wates Developments has submitted the second plan to Chichester District Council, as it awaits the result of a previous 220-home proposal.
The proposed development is next to a site which has permission to build 50 homes off of Beech Avenue – although work has not yet started on the site.
In the design and access statement for the 160 homes, Wates Developments said in the appeal for the Beech Avenue site the inspector said the adjoining site could take up to 300 homes.
The application for 220 homes, of which 88 would be affordable, has been subject to almost 30 objections – but the council has not given a date of when it will make its decision. The council’s deadline for a decision the second plan for 160 homes is May 28. A total of 64 of these homes would be affordable in the plans.
