JUDGES for the South East in Bloom competition visited Selsey on Tuesday.

They were taken on a tour to various sites, including East Beach, Mill Lane allotments and Medmerry School.

There was also a tour around the town, where judges saw the high street adorned with bunting and hanging baskets.

Gill Jennings, Selsey Town Council clerk, said the judges met a number of volunteers who had worked on horticulture around the town.

The Selsey and District Lions Club drove the group around on a bus for the three-hour tour, and lunch was provided by the Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Group.

The town will find out the results of the competition at an awards ceremony in September. Last year the town won the silver gilt award.

Manor Garden Park is entered separately in the park category, and last year it was awarded gold.
