‘Serious’ assault in Selsey on Boxing Day

A MAN was seriously injured in an assault outside a Selsey pub on Boxing Day.

Police were called to the assault outside the Fisherman’s Joy pub on East Street, Selsey, at around 9.30pm last night (December 26).

A 24-year-old man from Selsey suffered a head injury and bruising and swelling to his face. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 32-year-old man from Selsey has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and is still in custody.

Sussex Police and the air ambulance were in attendance.
