DESPITE the wind and showers, Sidlesham Primary School’s summer fair proved to be a big success.

After turning up at the site in the early morning and finding the marquee upside down in the bushes and the poles scattered, the race was on for the parents to get everything ready.

Residents turned up to give their support to the school, and visitors enjoyed cream teas, bouncy castles, a plant, toys and book stalls, sand art, ice creams with sprinkles, the coconut shy and beat the goalie, as well as five traditional game stalls organised by the five classes of the school.

The fair was a great success and the children especially enjoyed the surprise visit from Olaf the snowman from the film Frozen, as well as live music from Round Midnight.

Selsey Fire Brigade also turned up with a support vehicle, letting the children explore inside
and marvel at the power of the water hose.

As a finale, brave headmistress Mrs Bardsley helped to raise money for the school by allowing the children to throw wet spongers at her, which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

The school has asked to send their thanks to all the local businesses for their kind support and generosity.
