HEAVY rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected in West Sussex tomorrow (March 3).

The Met Office released a yellow weather warning for Monday, from 2am until 6pm.

Residents should expect heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and hail.

The weather could cause disruption to travel, and surface water flooding.

The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel, primarily from localised surface water flooding.

Flood alerts remain in place for Thorney to Bracklesham and Selsey to Elmer.

The coastal stretch from Bosham to West Itchenor has been issued with a flood warning - meaning residents should be prepared for flooding.

“Waterfront properties particularly around Shore Road, Bosham Lane and the High Street in Bosham could be affected by the overnight high tide,” said an Environment Agency spokesman.

“High water levels mean that there is a likelihood of property flooding occurring. The impacts are not expected to be widespread. It is recommended that any property protection measures you have are deployed before the high tide.”
