A WOMAN who goes the ‘extra mile’ has been nominated for the Woman of the Year Awards.

Vicki Harrison, who runs The Tall Dog in Midhurst, has been put forward in the category of Woman in Community, Charity or Voluntary Sector for her fundraising work.

“It is fantastic news about the nomination,”
said Vicki.

“Over the past year, alongside what we have done with the local community through The Tall Dog, meeting and building relationships with the
people we have met along the way has been one of the best parts.”

Vicki has joined in the fundraising to Help Tom Toddle.

“Working with Tom and his family has been the biggest project we have been involved in, and abseiling down the Spinaker for Tom a couple of weeks ago, was a great achievement.

“New doors have opened and meeting such wonderful people who offer you such strength and support in doing what we do, gives you the encouragement needed to continue doing what we do, and taking it further.

“When I set up The Tall Dog back in March 2013, I knew from day one that not only did I want to do something positive and encouraging for the community, but I wanted to be different and also work raising money and awareness of charities and local causes that needed vital support and funding.

“We work hard to achieve it and to have this
recognised by being nominated for an award is a wonderful feeling.”
