A CREATIVE milliner with a ‘zest for life’ has been nominated for the Woman of the Year Awards.
Leigh Johnson, of Laylaleigh Millinery has been nominated in the category of Woman in Fashion.
“I’m honoured to have been nominated, my work is my passion and to be recognised in this way means so much to me on so many levels,” said Leigh, who is a mother of two.
“I’m really excited about the future of my business, millinery is such a wonderful craft and one that has seen a comeback in recent years, I have always loved wearing hats and creating beautiful affordable bespoke pieces for my ladies is a joy”.
Leigh, who lives in West Wittering, was trained in the art of making hats, fascinators and perches and now makes bespoke creations for every occasion – including weddings and the races.
The person who nominated Leigh said: “Leigh is a fantastic wife, mother and friend with a zest for life, always standing out in the crowd. Leigh allows women to look and feel sensational at special events.
“Leigh has made several hats for me for weddings, racing and even my wedding day. Trusting anybody to make your bridal headpiece is a big deal, however I never question Leigh’s ability and talent, having complete confidence in her.
“Whenever I wear a LaylaLeigh piece, I feel empowered and attractive. I want Leigh to win because making women feel special should be recognised.”
