The Ship in Chichester becomes wedding venue
COUPLES wanting to the tie the knot will now be able to head to The Ship Hotel in Chichester.
With the imminent closure of the registry office in North Street, Chichester, The Ship Hotel has acted very quickly and licensed their two functions rooms as approved premises for civil marriages and civil partnerships.
Currently the only other location for civil marriages and partnerships to take place in the heart of the city is Edes House.
But due to council business the venue is limited to a Saturday-only availability.
General manager of The Ship Hotel Patrick Burfield said: “We are very sorry to see the demise of the registry office as so many guests have held their receptions here in the past after their ceremonies have taken place only 50 yards away.
“We see a real necessity for approved premises in the heart of Chichester and believe we can fill that void.”
The hotel will be offering tailor-made packages to suit all requirements and budgets. There are 36 appointed bedrooms, luxurious bar and restaurant, different choices of menu and photo opportunities on the Adam staircase.
