POLICE have confirmed the man who died after being hit by a train at Emsworth was in his forties and from Portsmouth.
His family have been informed.
The man died after being hit by a train on the railway at Emsworth on Monday (March 24).
The railway line at Emsworth was closed from 7.30pm after the incident, and The British Transport Police, The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Hampshire Constabulary were called to the scene.
“Officers attended the incident, which was reported to police at 7.29pm, and it is currently being treated as non-suspicious,” said a British Transport Police spokesman.
“Medics from South Central Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file is currently being prepared for the coroner’s office.”
The line was closed until about 9.30pm, causing severe disruption on the trains.
