Police have confirmed they arrested a boy for climbing the Chichester Christmas tree and damaging its baubles.
This morning (December 2), a spokeswoman for Sussex Police confirmed: “Police were called at 11.35pm on Thursday, November 28, to South Street to reports a man was climbing the Christmas tree.
“A 17-year-old boy from Arundel was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and causing criminal damage to two baubles.
“He was given a caution for his actions.”
The Christmas tree is at the centre of the city, next to the Cross.
The arrest came hours after the Chichester Christmas lights were switched on earlier in the evening.
