A WARM welcome greeted a royal visitor to a well-supported charity.

The Duchess of Gloucester caused quite a stir when she arrived at the Aldingbourne Trust’s County Centre in Norton near Fontwell this afternoon (Wednesday, March 19).

The trust’s managing director, Sue Livett, said: “This was an exciting opportunity for people to meet the Duchess of Gloucester.

“I understand she has an interest in cerebral palsy and we were pleased to demonstrate the work we do in supporting local people who have disabilities.

“It is a challenge to explain everything we do as we are so diverse, but it was fantastic for the Aldingbourne Trust to be invited to host this royal visit.”

The trust, which supports adults with learning disabilities across West Sussex, showcased its work and what it had to offer.

The Duchess was introduced to members, staff and volunteers and saw the range of activities on offer.

Formerly Birgitte Eva van Deurs Henriksen, the duchess married the Duke of Gloucester in 1972.
