MAPBishop Luffa School
Bishop Luffa Sixth Form students are today celebrating record-breaking A-level results.
The group of 135 students achieved a 99 per cent pass rate for all the exams entered, 57 per cent of which were awarded grades A or B. Both results set new records for the school.

Headteacher, Nick Taunt, said, "This has been a year group with real character.
"I am delighted that our students have done so well and would like to congratulate them on their results. We were expecting great things from them, and we set high academic targets.

"They all worked very hard, as demonstrated by the fact that over 81% of all the exam entries were awarded grades A-C.
"Outstanding results such as these are not easy to come by: they reflect students' determined and sustained commitment to their studies, and the strong support offered them by their families.

MAPSt Philip Howard Catholic High School
HARD work by pupils and invaluable support from staff has helped St Philip Howard achieve another crop of bumper A Level results.
Headline figures for A level students include:
• 30 per cent of year 13 students achieved entirely A and B grades
• 50 per cent of results are at grades A or B and 76 per cent at A to C
• Students achieved an overall 'A' level pass rate of 97 per cent.
Headline figures for AS students include:
• 55 per cent of results are at grades A or B
• Five Year 12 students achieved straight A grades — three of those students in five subjects
• Nearly 20 per cent of all students gained entirely A and B grades
"Undeniably the students and their teachers have worked exceptionally hard again this year," headteacher David Todd said.
"Students have been given tremendous support by teachers both in lessons and through mentoring by tutors."
AS results were outstanding this year. Students have had just over two terms to reach this advanced standard and usually at this stage results reflect this increase in difficulty from GCSE.
Mr Todd said: "Our students have performed magnificently, however, and their current achievement augurs very well for the full A level next year."
"School Sixth Form life has so much to offer the students and they provide so much for the whole school community.
"There are many demands on the students' time to be involved in activities such as mentoring younger students or Duke of Edinburgh Award or our production of the 'Hot Mikado' at the Chichester Festival Theatre or fundraising for charity – as well as their academic work.
"We are delighted therefore, that despite the workload our students have been justly rewarded with some excellent results."
