OUTSTANDINGLY happy college students have created a video to accompany a musical sensation.
Chichester College has celebrated its recent outstanding Ofsted inspection by shooting a video for Pharrell Williams’ famous number-one single Happy.
The video was filmed by students currently studying for a level 3 diploma in creative media production.
As part of their studies, these students could join the department’s own enterprise company called Cee Cee productions, which produced this video.
Deputy head of learning for creative and performing arts Andy Davies said: “The synopsis behind the video was to show as many of the different areas of the college as possible celebrating the wonderful news that we are only one of seven British colleges out of 252 rated as outstanding by Ofsted.”
The video was filmed by three film units across two days at the college’s main campus in Chichester, as well as the Brinsbury Campus in Pulborough.
Between them they shot nearly three hours of footage that took Andrew three days to edit into the four-minute video.
The end scene of the video meant that one of the camera operators, Matt Taunton, was lifted nearly 100ft in the air to get the group shot that includes the college’s senior management team dancing and clapping along to Pharrell Williams’ song ‘Happy’
Lots of staff, students and animals were involved from a range of courses such as travel and tourism, public services, business, motor vehicles, engineering, floristry, dog grooming, animal care and veterinary nursing, horticulture and many many more.
The video was directed by Holly Blackhurst and Jane Golds of the college’s marketing department.
It is available to view here on Youtube and already has more than 1,400 views.
