THE Selsey RNLI volunteers were called out to sea yesterday (April 12), to an angling boat.
The call came in at 2.12pm to a seven metre angling boat, 2.5 miles south of Selsey Bill, where the anchor line was caught in the propellor.
The lifeboat arrived on scene within 15 minutes and transferred second coxswain Rob Archibald to the boat, Christina B, to help the man and woman on board free the line from the propeller.
Mr Archibald said: “The skipper of the Christina B hadn’t realised the anchor line was caught in the propeller till we told him. After freeing the line a towline was established between the lifeboat and angling boat and the vessel was towed to Sparkes Marina inside Chichester Harbour.”
The lifeboat departed Chichester Marina at 5.55pm for Selsey arriving at 6.45pm and rehousing straight away. The lifeboat was refuelled, washed down and made ready for service by 7.40pm.
