VIDEO: The Observer raises money for Tom’s Toddle Fund

Waiting for Video...

The Observer has been fundraising on the streets of Chichester today, backing an appeal to help a little boy’s dream of being able to walk come true.

Five-year-old Thomas Jenkins has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, and is unable to move himself.

An operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery would allow Thomas to move around on his own and ease his pain but it costs £40,000.

Thomas Jenkins and his mother Sarah joined the fundraising this afternoon (Wednesday, 11).

Thank you to everyone who donated money to the cause and waved at the Observer’s reindeer – it was greatly appreciated.

We are still collecting money and any donations are welcome at the Chichester Observer reception in Eastgate.

We will also be raising funds at the Observer Community Awards at Butlin’s tomorrow night (Thursday, 12).
