VIDEO: Emsworth hit by flooding

The A259 through Emsworth was closed at Hermitage at high tide.

High winds and rain have uprooted trees flooded both millponds in Emsworth as the storm moves over the south of England.

Half way along South Street has been flooded and Queen Street. Waters rose over the bridge across the second millpond forcing cars to drive slowly on the A259 or divert through Westbourne.

A tree was blown down on Havant Road during the night and was removed early Monday morning, and a second tree was blown into the millpond from Bridgefoot Path.

The water level in the millpond had been relatively low but within an hour of high tide this lunch time water cascaded over the harbour walk and flooded it again.
