Wedding celebrations for couple who met at rescue centre

A couple who met at RSPCA Mount Noddy Animal Rescue Centre at Eartham have married.

Paula Maidment and Derek Speer wed at St Leodegar’s Church in Hunston last month.

Paula was a staff assistant caring for and rehoming abandoned and badly treated cats and dogs.

Derek was the honorary president of Mount Noddy.

Many voluntary helpers attended the wedding, which was conducted by the Rev. James Russell.

The bride was given away by her father.

The hymns ‘One More Step Along The Road’ and ‘Jerusalem’ were sung.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds were driven in vintage luxury to Chichester Park Hotelfor a reception in a 1950s two tone Bentley.

Paula and Derek, who runs an established hairstyling saloon in Bognor, will live in East Dean.

A honeymoon in the Carribean is planned.
