A MUM from East Preston has been nominated for one of our prestigious Woman of the Year Awards in the category of Young Woman.
Sadie King, 27, has developed her business Sonnet Marketing from a start-up into a great success in just one year, offering support to businesses with telemarketing, telesales and database services.
“I was asked what winning the Young Woman Award would mean to me, and after thinking long and hard about this question, I feel it would summarise everything I have achieved in the past eight years,” said Sadie.
Sadie’s business has won five contracts, one of which is for the third-largest global voice-recording provider. She has run campaigns for these companies in brand awareness and database validation campaigns.
“Being a mum to four amazing children is a very rewarding thing in its own right, however, starting my own business in the past 12 months has helped me to realise self-achievement is also very important,” she said.
Sadie was made redundant from her career in marketing and telemarketing, but decided to set up her own business with the help and support of her husband and family.
“Being a young mum and a businesswoman is hard work, but it is all worthwhile when you see your efforts being recognised not just by friends and family, but also by other professionals as well,” said Sadie.
“I hope that if I were to win this award, it would give other young individuals and young mums the courage to try new things.”
