Man stabbed in Arundel

A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Arundel.

Officers were called to Canada Road, just after 6pm, yesterday, Wednesday, March 28 after a report that a man had been stabbed in the street.

The 38-year old local man was taken to St Richards Hospital in Chichester to be treated for a deep cut to his right forearm, and a 26-year old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm. he is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

Nobody else was hurt in the incident, which occurred in the road and not in an address.

Police seized a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the assault.

A Sussex Police spokesman said; “Enquiries are being made to establish exactly what happened, but this is not believed to be a stranger attack.”
